SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the second time in two weeks, UNCG’s Paul Chelimo has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Runner of the Week, the league office announced today.

The sophomore from Chebiemit, Kenya won the individual title at the annual Paul Short Run, where UNCG competed against seven top-25 programs. Chelimo led the race from the start and finished with a time of 23:55, which was 15 seconds off his school record that he set a few weeks ago.

As a team, UNCG finished 15th.  The Spartans are currently ranked at No. 11 in the southeast region by USTFCCCA.

UNCG will compete again this weekend at the Wilbur Ross Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
