SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern senior forward Luigi Clendening has been chosen as the Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week for all matches from September 27 - October 2.
Clendening improved his season goals tally to nine with two in a 3-2 SoCon win against regionally-ranked College of Charleston on Saturday. The victory for the Eagles took Georgia Southern top of the league and to a perfect 2-0 in the SoCon for the first time since 1998.
On the season, the Augusta, Ga., native leads the conference and ranks fifth nationally in both goals scored with nine and points with 22.
Other Nominees: Boubacar Toure (Appalachian State), Shawn Ferguson (College of Charleston), Peyton Ford (UNCG) and Andrew Drennan (Wofford).
