Mocs Wind Up Sixth at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational
Freshman Michaela Gasplmayr posts Top 10 as Chattanooga shoots second lowest round of tournament

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team rose from a tie for 10th into a sixth-place finish at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky Sunday. UTC's final round 305 (+19) tied for the second-lowest of the tournament.

The Mocs rise today was powered by Michaela Gasplmayr (Ebenfurth, Austria) and Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.). Gasplmayr tied for the low round of the day with a two-over par 74, while Britt was a shot back at 75 (+3).

Gasplmayr was low for Mocs this weekend tying for eighth at 233. Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) ended up tied for 21st at 237, as Britt and Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) tied for 28th at 239. Maria Juliana Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) wound up 75th at 254.

The top 10 is the first in Gasplmayr's brief career for the Mocs. She bounced back from an 83 in the opening round to shoot 76-74 over the last 36 holes. That tied for the tourney's second-best total over that stretch. She was very consistent over her final 18 with two birdies, 13 pars, two bogeys and a double.

Kentucky claimed the team title as its final round 303 gave UK an eight-stroke win over UCF, which led by five heading into the final round. Augusta State was third at 940, Michigan fourth at 944 and Illinois fifth at 945.

Ashleigh Albrecht gave the Wildcats a clean sweep winning medalist honors with a nine-over par total of 225. Kaitlyn Price (UCF) was second at 226 (+10), while Leticia Ras-Anderica (Miami) was third at 228 (+12).
