SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State’s Maggie Seeds has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for October 19, the league office announced today.

Seeds, who hit .404 for the volleyball team last week helped lead the Mountaineers to a 3-0 record. She tallied 25 kills in three matches, averaging 2.78 kills per set. The outside hitter recorded her 236th career block against Wofford and needs just two more to move into ninth place on the school’s all-time list.

The senior from Clemmons, N.C. maintains a 3.97 GPA in Physics.

Other nominees included College of Charleston soccer player Sarah Schaidle, The Citadel football player Domonic Jones, Elon volleyball player Ali Deatsch, UNCG soccer player Peyton Ford, Chattanooga volleyball player Christina Teter, and Wofford volleyball player Reagan Styles.
