SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Davidson freshman forward Becca Fisher has been selected as the Southern Conference women's soccer player of the week for all matches from October 10-16.
Fisher helped the Wildcats go 1-1 on the week with a pair of goals and an assist to total five points. On Thursday night at College of Charleston, Fisher brought the Wildcats back from a 2-0 deficit when she assisted on the Wildcats' first goal and then headed in the game-tying goal in the 61st minute before CofC went on to take a 3-2 decision.
In Sunday's match with The Citadel, the freshman from Fredericksburg, Va., sent a long shot to goal from the near sideline that hit the side post and bounced in for her fourth game-winning score of the year. The overtime goal improved Davidson to 5-3 on the season in league play.
