SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference named its football players of the week today for the games played Saturday, October 15. Samford's Fabian Truss was named Offensive Player of the Week while teammate Corey White earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Chattanooga's Terrell Robinson was selected as the Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, and Georgia Southern's Adrian Mora was tabbed as the Special Teams Player of the Week. The players of the week are selected by the league office.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Fabian Truss, Samford, So., RB, Birmingham, Ala.
Fabian Truss carried the ball a career-high 26 times for a personal-best 191 yards and three touchdowns as Samford topped Elon, 43-31 Saturday. Truss scored on the ground in the second and third quarters. With Samford holding a 37-31 lead midway through the fourth quarter, Truss scored again to give the Bulldogs their final margin of victory. He scored on a 64-yard run in the second quarter which was Samford's longest play from scrimmage this season. Truss averaged 7.3 yards per carry.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Corey White, Samford, Sr., CB, Dunwoody, Ga.
White tallied a career-high 12 tackles in Samford's win over Elon. All 12 of the senior cornerback's stops were solo efforts, including a tackle for minus five yards. The Dunwoody, Ga., native also recorded an interception in the second quarter and was credited with a forced fumble and one pass break-up in the win.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Terrell Robinson, Chattanooga, Fr., QB, South Pittsburg, Tenn.
Robinson became the first UTC freshman quarterback to start since Matt Lopez in 2003 and responded by completing 7-of-11 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns. Robinson added 72 yards rushing on 14 carries for the Mocs as UTC raced past Western Carolina, 51-7. Robinson's three TD passes are the most by a Moc this season. He engineered scoring drives of 75, 63 and 63 yards in the first quarter. Robinson's 32-yard run on the first play from scrimmage was the longest run of the year for UTC before Marquis Green turned in a 34-yard run later in the first quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Adrian Mora, Georgia Southern, Sr., PK, Dalton, Ga.
Mora scored 12 points in Georgia Southern's 50-20 victory over Furman Saturday afternoon. Mora connected on field goals of 23 and 49 yards. The senior placekicker broke the NCAA FCS record for consecutive PATs with his 127th in the third quarter. Mora has now connected on 129 straight PATs and ranks sixth nationally in scoring (9.67 ppg).
