SPARTANBURG,

– Davidson’s Stephanie Gerow has been named the Southern Conference
Student-Athlete of the Week for October 13, the league office announced today.
Gerow
helped the Wildcats to a pair of shutout wins against Appalachian State (3-0)
and Western Carolina (1-0) last weekend. She played a critical role in win over
ASU as she tallied three points which matches her career-high. The senior
recorded her first goal of the season and the sixth of her career when she
headed the ball in net in the 67th minute.
Sunday
she set up the winning goal with a pass to teammate Rachel Stelter, who headed
in the winning goal.
The
two-time All-SoCon Academic team member, Gerow has started all 14 games this
year and maintains a 3.41 GPA in Psychology.
Other nominees included Elon football player AJ Harris, Furman
volleyball player Christina Dorismond, Samford volleyball player Katie Murphy,
and Chattanooga volleyball player Christina Teter.
