Three Student-Athletes Honored for Excellence in Competition
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference announced its December athletes of the month today, highlighting excellence among student-athletes during the month. The athletes of the month are nominated by each member institution and selected by the conference office.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Andrew Goudelock, College of Charleston, Sr., G
Goudelock started all six games and led the College of Charleston to a 5-1 record during the month of December including a perfect 2-0 start to league play with an 82-73 victory against Davidson on Dec. 2 and a 92-84 win over Georgia Southern on Dec. 4. Goudelock also recorded his 2,000th career point and a game-high 31 points to lead CofC to a 91-78 upset at 2010 NCAA Elite Eight participant Tennessee on Dec. 31 in Knoxville, Tenn. It was his third career 30-point game. Goudelock averaged a team-leading 24.5 points and 4.2 assists per game, while shooting 50.9 percent from the floor (54-of-106), 46.7 percent from beyond the arc (21-of-45) and 81.8 percent (18-of-22) from the charity stripe. He knocked down a game-high 22 points on his 22nd birthday in a 79-59 rout of ETSU on Dec. 7.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Monique Floyd, UNCG, Sr., G
Floyd, a senior from Farimont, N.C., led the Spartans in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg) as UNCG went 5-1 and 3-0 in conference play in the month of December. As the Spartans' offensive catalyst, Floyd also dished out a team-best 26 assists while only turning the ball over six times, which was good for an impressive 4.3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. The senior scored in double digits in every game, including a career-high 23 points against Furman on Dec. 20. She also matched a career-high in rebounds, pulling down 10 against Wofford, which helped her record her first double-double of the season on Dec. 18.
Floyd earned two weekly accolades in the month with the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week honors for Dec. 15 and the SoCon Player of the Week distinction for Dec. 21.

WRESTLING
Turtogtokh Luvsandorj, The Citadel, So., 165 pounds
Luvsandorj continued his early season success with an overall record of 13-2 and four wins over ranked opponents in the month of December. He continues to be among the SoCon leaders in total wins. The sophomore took third place at two prestigious tournaments last month at the Penn State Open and the Southern Scuffle. He finished higher than any other SoCon participant at the Southern Scuffle and upset No. 5 PJ Gillespie of Hofstra in the third place match. The 165 pounder's overall career record at The Citadel now sits at 23-4. The Bulldog grappler ended the month ranked inside or around the top-10 in every major wrestling poll.
