ELON, N.C. -- Elon senior goalkeeper Clint Irwin has been selected as a member of the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's College Scholar All-America Team at the University Division. It marks the second consecutive season in which Irwin has earned Scholar All-America accolades.

Irwin boasts a 3.49 GPA as a political science major and was the lone Southern Conference representative on the team comprised of 16 NCAA Division I players.

Irwin is one of the most storied goalkeepers in Elon history, finishing  his tenure as the school shutout leader with 22 career clean slates.   Although an injury sidelined him for a portion of his final season,   Irwin became only the 11th player in league history to be an   all-conference performer for four consecutive seasons after claiming  first-team accolades in 2010. Irwin leaves Elon  as the single-season  (10) and career record-holder in shutouts and  ranks third all-time in  goals allowed average (0.89). The Charlotte,  N.C. native was selected  as one of the 10 finalists for the Lowe's  Senior CLASS Award and was a  second-team NSCAA All-South Region honoree this year.  He holds a 3.49  GPA as a political science major.
