SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Western Carolina sophomore Cordell Livingston and Samford senior Kyle Kirby have been named the Southern Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for all meets from Dec. 4, 2010 through the weekend of Jan. 22, 2011. The selections are made by the league's track and field coaches.
Livingston, a High Point, N.C., native, ran the 60 meter hurdles at the Kentucky Invitational on Jan. 15, in a time of 7.99. He also ran his split in the 4 x 400 meters relay at the meet in 49.1 and the 60 meters dash in 7.10. Livingston currently ranks first in the SoCon in the 60 meter hurdles and the 4 x 400 meters relay.
Kirby, a Samford senior from Longwood, Fla., broke the school record in the weight with a throw of 60'6.75 inches at the Blue Raider Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Appalachian State sophomore Alex Taylor - Taylor won the Mountaineer Open mile with a time of 5:15.56, breaking the Holmes Center record.
Appalachian State senior Ryan Twiford - Twiford won the pole vault at the Mountaineer Open with a mark of 16'4.75", setting a new Holmes Center record.
