College of Charleston?s Schaidle Named Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston sophomore midfielder Sarah Schaidle has been chosen as the Southern Conference women's soccer player of the week for all matches from September 20-26.

Schaidle tallied three goals in two matches last week, including the game-winner in each contest, as College of Charleston started Southern Conference play with road wins at Appalachian State and Western Carolina.

In Friday's 4-0 victory over ASU, the sophomore started the scoring at the 14:20 mark before adding her second goal of the half 25 minutes in. In a driving rain on Sunday, Schaidle scored from 10 yards out in the 27th minute to open the scoring in the Cougars' 2-0 triumph at WCU.

CofC (5-5, 2-0) is one of three unbeaten, untied teams in the SoCon thus far and will continue league play this weekend, hosting Samford on Friday evening and Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon.
