SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga's Emmanual Kirwa has been named the men's Southern Conference Runner of the week for his performance during the weekend of September 10-11, the league office announced today.
Kirwa, a senior from Kapsabet, Kenya, paced the Chattanooga men to a first place finish in the PowerAde Invitational. Kirwa's time of 15:19 for the 5,000 meter course on the Moccasin Bend course was good for the second fastest time on the day.
The Mocs return to action this weekend with the Commodore Classic in Nashville, Tenn.
