Greenville, S.C. -- The seven-member 2010 Furman men's soccer recruiting class has been ranked No. 39 in CollegeSoccerNews.com's Top 40 list, it was announced on the soccer news source's website earlier this week.
Furman's class, which includes John Cantrell, Josh Fusan, Michael Gandier, Josh Lietch, Michael Radecke, Nathan Wagner and Emmu Wakai, was the only Southern Conference school ranked in the top 40. The class helped Furman to a 3-2 preseason win at Winthrop on Sunday before falling 3-2 at home versus third-ranked Wake Forest on Friday night.
Gandier, a midfielder from Hastings, Minn., has started both games and tallied a goal in the loss to Wake Forest. Radecke, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., earned a start against the Demon Deacons.
Furman opens regular season play on Wednesday, September 1, when it hosts East Tennessee State at Stone Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
