Furman's Kenoyer Advances To Field of 64

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Furman's Stefanie Kenoyer (76-72=148) carded an even-par 72 on Tuesday morning to earn a share of 40th place at four-over and advance into the field of 64 match play competition at the United States Women's Amateur Championship at the Charlotte Country Club.

The senior notched four birdies on Tuesday to follow up a four-over 76 in Monday's opening round with a 72.  She will face No. 22 seed Candace Schepperle of Birmingham, Ala., in Wednesday's round of 64 beginning at 2:40 p.m.  The winner of Wednesday's match will advance to a round of 32 showdown at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Kenoyer, a native of Lighthouse Point, Fla., reached the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur for the second straight year.  A three-time All-Southern Conference selection, Kenoyer has led Furman to three consecutive NCAA Regional appearances while garnering SoCon Player of the Year honors this past season.

Liz Wendt (77-78=155), a rising junior, finished in a tie for 95th in her first U.S. Amateur.
