Greenville, S.C. -- Furman University golfer Stefanie Kenoyer is set to participate on the six-member Team USA women’s squad at the 2010 World University Golf Championship June 8-11, in Antequera, Malaga, Spain.

A rising senior, Kenoyer will join Laura Anderson of the University of Louisville, Ashley Bauer of the University of Michigan, Laura Kueny of Michigan State University, Catherine O’Donnell of the Univerity of North Carolina and one yet to be determined player as Team USA look to defend their 2008 title at the World Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,562-yard Antequera Golf Course.

The World University Golf Championship, sponsored by the International University Sports Federation, is held every two years. The 2008 event was held in South Africa as Team USA won the women’s gold medal in the 13-country field while the Team USA men finished fifth out of 14 countries. The 72-hole stroke play event will include five players playing as individuals with three players playing as a team.

Kenoyer, a native of Lighthouse Point, Fla. posted a 73.6 stroke average and finished in the top-10 in seven of Furman’s 11 tournaments during the 2009-10 campaign while leading the Paladins to an NCAA East Regional bid. The two-time Southern Conference Individual Medalist and 2010 SoCon Player of the Year advanced the local and sectional qualifiers to earn a spot in the U.S. Open last summer.
