SoCon Teams Begin College World Series Quest

NCAA Baseball Regional play begins on Friday with a record three Southern Conference teams vying for a national championship.

 

The action begins at 2 p.m. as conference champion and 30th-ranked The Citadel battles No. 16 Virginia Tech in Columbia, S.C.

 

At 3 p.m., Elon will tackle No. 29 Alabama in Atlanta, Ga., with the game slated for television on CSS. CSS will broadcast every game of the Atlanta Regional.

 

Friday’s final game featuring a SoCon team will be at 7 p.m. as College of Charleston heads from the Lowcountry to the Grand Strand to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for a showdown with North Carolina State.
