SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Samford baseball player Wayne Miller has been honored as the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for April 7.
The senior outfielder from Knoxville, Tenn., is an international relations major and has a 3.62 GPA.
Miller hit .545 in Samford's four games last week. He tallied three doubles and four RBI.
The Bulldogs completed a season sweep of league foe Davidson as Miller hit .588 over three games.
In the series opener Thursday, he went 6-for-7, bringing in three runs and recording two doubles. Miller continued his success Friday as he hit .500 before wrapping up the series Saturday with an RBI double.
Also nominated this week was Elon baseball player Mike Melillo.
