SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston's Mickael Trintignac has been named the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for all matches March 29-April 4 the league office announced Wednesday (April 7). It is the second honor for Trintignac in as many weeks as he went 4-0 in both singles and double play last week for the Cougars who posted conference wins over The Citadel (7-0) and Wofford (7-0). The Player of the Week is awarded by the conference office.
Trintignac defeated The Citadel's Alberto Diaz, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles before earning a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Wofford's Stuart Robinson. The Le Cannet, France, native is now 15-5 in singles play this season.
The Cougars' tandem of Trintignac and Mickael Boyer defeated Josh Cook and Jeremiah Dye, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles. Trintignac and Boyer also posted an 8-3 victory over Wofford's Robertson and Tom Wood. The CofC pair is now 10-3 in doubles play and has won their last six matches together.
The Cougars (14-3, 8-0) return to the courts Sunday when they host UNC Greensboro (14-3, 7-0) at 1:00 p.m.
Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Davidson's Calum Gee, Furman's Sawyer Duncan, UNC Greensboro's Orcun Seyrek, Samford's Zac Dunkle and Chattanooga's William Disterdick.
