A sophomore centerfielder from Sarasota, Fla., Field hit .571 as Furman went 4-1 last week and clinched the series with Appalachian State. She posted a .684 on-base percentage, while recording three multi-hit games. Field also scored seven runs.

In the Paladins' 9-8 win against Gardner-Webb, Field went 3-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base. With the game in extra innings, Field made a diving catch and doubled off the runner at second to help set up Furman's victory.

Field was 5-of-8 in the three-game series against the Mountaineers. She had two multi-hit games while tallying four runs and three walks.

Waters, a junior from Soddy Daisy, Tenn., earned two of Chattanooga's four victories last week. She registered a 0.00 ERA while striking out 11 and allowing just one walk. Opposing batters hit .143 against her, collecting only five hits.

In the 2-0 win against league foe Western Carolina, Waters fanned a season-high nine batters, while giving up one hit and one walk. After giving up the walk, she held the next 17 batters without a hit. She faced 22 batters, just one more than the minimum.

Now 7-3 on the season, Waters has a 2.79 ERA in 70.1 innings pitched. She has tallied 56 strikeouts.

The Paladins return to action Monday as they hit the road to take on Charlotte in a doubleheader. Chattanooga visits Tennessee State for a pair of games on Tuesday.
