SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Elon softball player Erin O'Shea has been selected the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for March 31.
The sophomore pitcher from Kennesaw, Ga., carries a 3.61 GPA.
O'Shea earned all three of Elon's victories last week, including one at Coastal Carolina and two against College of Charleston. She is now 10-2 on the season.
In her three appearances on the mound last week, O'Shea registered an ERA of 1.24 in 17 innings of work while striking out 11 and allowing just three earned runs. She held opposing batters to a .217 batting average.
Against College of Charleston Saturday, O'Shea pitched a complete-game shutout, retiring four batters, while permitting just two hits. The Phoenix won 8-0.
At the plate O'Shea hit two doubles on the week, bringing her season total to seven. She also tallied two RBIs and five runs.
Also nominated this week were Appalachian State track & field athlete Mason Campbell and The Citadel baseball player Raymond Copenhaver.
