CofC's Trintignac Named Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston's Mickael Trintignac has been named the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for all matches March 22-28 the league office announced Tuesday (March 30).  Trintignac finished the week 6-0 in both singles and double play last week as the Cougars earned league wins over Elon (4-3), Appalachian State (4-3) and Davidson (5-2).  The Player of the Week is awarded by the conference office.

Competing at No. 2 singles for the Cougars, Trintignac topped Elon's Chase Helpingstine, 6-3, 6-4 last Monday.  The Le Cannet, France, native earned two other straight set wins over Appalachian State's Trent Constance (6-4, 7-6) and Davidson's Walker Lyons (6-3, 6-1).

Trintignac teamed with Mickael Boyer at No. 3 doubles where the tandem went 3-0, including an 8-2 win over Elon's Eric Turner and Clark Howell to start the week.  Trintignac and Boyer also earned an 8-6 victory over ASU's Andrew McKinnon and Ezekiel Sansing.  The CofC pair closed the week with an 8-7 victory over Davidson's Chris Mark and Sam Burns.

Trintignac has now won his last four singles matches and carries an 11-6 mark on the season.  He is 13-5 in doubles competition this year.

The Cougars (12-3, 6-0 SoCon) host The Citadel Wednesday.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Alain Humblet, The Citadel's Alberto Diaz, Davidson's Calum Gee, Furman Carl Lundberg, Georgia Southern's Juan Manuel Melian Puigventos, UNC Greensboro's Orcun Seyrek, Samford's Carson Kadi and Chattanooga's Roberto Viera.
