A senior third baseman from Loganville, Ga., Side hit .583 in Georgia Southern's four games last week. She scored three runs and tallied three RBI.

Side was 2-for-6 in the two-game series against North Florida. She hit a solo home run and also scored two runs in the Eagles' 9-6 loss to the Ospreys.

In Georgia Southern's 3-0 win at Appalachian State, Side was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. She also hit two doubles in the series, giving her a conference-leading 11 for the season.

Three of Side's five home runs this season have come in the past seven games.

Harrell, a senior from McDonough, Ga., earned two of UNCG's three victories last week and posted a 0.50 ERA. She held opposing batters to a .167 average while striking out 12 and registering just one extra-base hit.

In the Spartans' 3-1 win against Marshall, Harrell allowed one run on six hits and fanned four batters.

Against North Carolina State, she struck out eight, while limiting the Wolfpack to just two hits and one unearned run. It marked the Spartans' first win over N.C. State since 2005.

Both teams return to action Tuesday. Georgia Southern travels to Jacksonville for a doubleheader, while UNC Greensboro welcomes East Carolina for a pair of games.

Also receiving nominations for player of the week were Appalachian State's Allie Cashion, College of Charleston's Kelley Dillon, Elon's Tomeka Watson, UNC Greensboro's Emily Akiyama, Samford's Amanda Jordan and Chattanooga's Della Harrison.

Also nominated for pitcher of the week were Appalachian State's Caitlin Wainright, College of Charleston's Terri Mesko, Elon's Erin O'Shea, Samford's Stephanie Royall and Chattanooga's Nikki Waters.
