Elon?s Pritchard Named to Wallace Award Watch List

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Elon junior shortstop Neal Pritchard was one of 54 players at the position named to the initial Brooks Wallace Award Watch List.  The Wallace Award, sponsored by Mizuno, recognizes the nation's top shortstop and will be presented on July 2 in Lubbock, Texas as part of the College Baseball Awards Show.  
 
Pritchard is the only Southern Conference shortstop on the list.
 
Through Elon's first 20 games, Pritchard has hit .365 with 18 runs scored, five doubles, three home runs and 15 RBI.  A preseason second-team all-league pick, Pritchard had a 10-game hitting streak earlier this season and recorded his 100th career hit, a home run, in a victory at High Point.
 
During his career in the maroon and gold, the Asheboro, N.C. native has a .292 batting average.  He has also belted 19 homers, driven in 99 runs and scored 95 times.  He also has 31 doubles.
