WILMINGTON, N.C. - UNC Wilmington won three singles matches in straight sets on the way to a 5-2 win over UNC Greensboro in women's tennis action Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans (6-6) picked up three-set singles wins by Stephanie Macfarlane and Valerie Behr in the setback. Macfarlane rallied to top Kayla Schwenk at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-1 for her 12th win of the year (12-15), including an 8-4 mark in the spring slate. Behr held off Christina Riley at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 1-6, 6-3, to also run her spring record to 8-4 and 12-15 overall.

Sasha Skripkina and Alex Whitehead earned a win in doubles action, winning a tiebreaker over Chelsea Kahle and Hartley Collins. However, the Seahawks (9-5) claimed the doubles point by winning the other two doubles matches.

UNCG returns to Southern Conference play on Saturday when it visits Western Carolina for a 1 p.m. match.
