MILAWAUKEE, WIS. - Appalachian State University women's basketball learned its postseason fate very early Tuesday morning, as the Women's Basketball Invitational committee announced ASU would play at Charleston Southern, Thursday March 18 at 7 p.m.

The Black and Gold earned the No. 1 seed in the East region of the bracket and will be facing the Buccaneers for only the third time in school history. The last time the two team's squared off was during the 1991-92 season when ASU grabbed a resounding 89-55 win.

ASU is 2-0 all-time against Charleston Southern.

If the Mountaineers win, they will take on the winner of No. 4 Towson against No. 5 Fairfield. Southern Conference foe College of Charleston is also on ASU's side of the bracket, as they will play Morehead State, while No. 3 Louisville will square off against Bradley.

The Apps' are 0-7 all-time in the postseason (three games were played in the 1986-87 WNIT).
