SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston's Mickael Trintignac has been named the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for all matches March 1-7 the league office announced Wednesday (March 10).  Trintignac went 2-0 in singles competition last week and went 2-0 in doubles competition as the Cougars earned wins over Samford (5-2) and Boston College (5-2).  The Player of the Week is awarded by the conference office. 

Trintignac topped Samford's Scott Foster at the No. 2 singles position with a 6-4, 6-2 win.  The LeCannett, France, native then ran his singles record to 6-4 on the season with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Boston College's Akash Muppidi who was ranked No. 76 entering the week. 

A sophomore, Trintignac teamed with John Harden at No. 3 doubles to down Samford Joe Hunsicker and Ryan Shidler, 8-2.  He then teamed with Mickael Boyer at No. 2 doubles against BC, downing Brian Garber and Billy Grokenberger, 8-2.

The Cougars return to action Thursday when they host UNC Greensboro at 3:00 p.m.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Elon's Philip Nemec, Furman's Chris Rhyne and Chattanooga's Chris Smith.
