GREENVILLE, S.C. ? Recognition for Furman’s Will Owens continues as the College Baseball Foundation has named the Paladin outfielder to the College Baseball Foundation/Diamond National All-Star Lineup for his performance in four games last week

Owens, a sophomore from Greer, S.C., who on Monday earned Southern Conference Player-of the-Week honors, keyed Furman to a perfect 4-0 record last week by hitting .786 (11-for-14) with three home runs, 10 RBI, and seven runs scored. The Riverside High School product tallied 23 total bases, recorded a 1.643 slugging percentage, a tied school record for most consecutive hits with seven. He also posted an .800 on-base percentage and successfully handled all eight chances in the outfield, starting in all four games and seeing action in both right and left field.

He homered, tripled, drove in four runs, and scored twice in a 12-3 win over Dayton on Thursday, and came back the next day with a 4-for-4 performance that included a home run, four RBI, and three runs scored in a 12-9 win over Ohio.  His two-run home clout on Saturday helped the Paladins to an 11-9 win, and he capped his stellar week with a 3-for-3 display in Sunday's 10-7 series sweep victory over the Bobcats.

Owens, who is hitting a team leading .417 this year with four home runs and 17 RBI, cracked a three-run home run in his first plate appearance in last night’s eventual 12-6 road loss to Gardner-Webb.

Last year he batted just .157, seeing action in 25 games and earning only nine starts at second base.
