SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford women's tennis team lost their match Monday afternoon to the visiting East Tennessee State Buccaneers by a score of 6-1. The loss drops the Terriers to 1-7 on the season while East Tennessee improves to 4-2.

The Buccaneers were able to jump out to an early lead, by winning all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 advantage heading into singles play. The Buccaneers momentum from doubles carried over to singles and East Tennessee won the first five singles matches to take a 6-0 lead and clinch the match.

In the final match of the day Lucy Schermerhorn earned the only point for the Terriers. Schermerhorn defeated Jessica Ratliff at number six singles by a score of 6-2, 6-4.

The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday, March 3 when they will travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. to take on Gardner Webb at 2:00.
