GREENVILLE, S.C. ? Furman University baseball coach Ron Smith announced today the addition of three home games to the 2010 schedule.
Furman will entertain Western Illinois in a Saturday (Feb. 27) doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Latham Stadium and play a single game on Sunday (Feb. 28), also at 1:00 p.m.
The series will mark the first meeting in baseball between the Paladins and Leathernecks.
Furman (0-3), which dropped an 8-5 decision to 14th-ranked Clemson on Sunday, plays at Charleston Southern this Tuesday in a 2:00 p.m. game before returning home to face Charlotte on Wednesday in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
Western Illinois has yet to play a game this season.
The addition of the Western Illinois series was made possible after New Jersey Tech withdrew from a scheduled series with the Paladins.
