SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Appalachian State's Donald Sims has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played through November 16-22 the league office announced Tuesday (Nov. 23). Sims averaged 30.5 points a game last week as the Mountaineers went 1-1.
Sims scored 21 points in just 23 minutes as ASU topped Montreat College, 101-71 last Tuesday. Last year's Player of the Year, as selected by the media, then scored 40 points on the road at Mississippi State Friday night as the Mountaineers fell to the Bulldogs, 76-74 in Starkville, Miss.
