INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The College of Charleston men's soccer team climbed one spot in the NCAA South Regional Rankings in this week's fifth edition of the poll. Additionally, the Cougars garnered 15 total votes in the national poll to achieve the No. 28 ranking in the country.

CofC (7-2-1, 2-0 SoCon) made the jump with last week's win over Davidson, the No. 10 team in the South Region. CofC outlasted Davidson in a physical battle on Saturday afternoon at Patriots Point. The Cougars scored an early goal and weathered the Wildcats' attack to come away with the win.

More recently, in a game that has not yet factored into this week's voting, the Cougars mauled defending-SoCon champion Wofford in come-from-behind fashion on Tuesday night. The Cougars conceded an early lead but stormed back with four unanswered goals to claim the win.

The Cougars' seven-match winning streak has caught the attention of the national voters as well and earned the Cougars 15 votes, placing them third amongst teams just outside the national Top 25.

The Cougars look to extend their win streak to eight (nine matches unbeaten) when they travel to Elon on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The two squads will compete for the top spot in the SoCon as both bring 2-0 conference records into the match.
