SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Samford senior defender Paige Lanter has been chosen as the Southern Conference women's soccer player of the week for all matches from October 25-28.
Lanter scored a pair of goals in the Bulldogs' 3-0 SoCon victory at Chattanooga on Wednesday. Both of Lanter's goals were tallied in the second half of play and occurred 3:22 apart from each other.
Lanter, a senior from Hixson, Tenn., only attempted two shots Wednesday, but both found the back of the net. Her first goal was scored at 46:34 into the match and then her second goal occurred at 49:56. So far this season, Lanter has come up from her defender position to score three goals and add a pair of assists.
Other Nominees: Lauren Hein (UNCG), Caitlin Williams (Western Carolina) and Sara Oland (Georgia Southern).
