SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Furman sophomore goalkeeper Alec Kann has been chosen as the Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week for all matches from October 11-17.

Kann recorded two shutouts this past week to help Furman remain unbeaten in SoCon play at 2-0-1. The Decatur, Ga., native recorded four saves in a 0-0 double overtime tie on Tuesday against Davidson before stopping three shots, including making a save on a first half penalty kick, to lead Furman past Appalachian State 1-0 on Saturday night.

In three SoCon matches this season, Kann has allowed just one goal, boasting a 0.31 goals against average in league action.
