GREENVILLE, S.C. - Raegan Thompson scored a season high 22 points to propel Furman past Wofford, 72-53, in Southern Conference women's basketball action Tuesday evening on Carolina First Court at Timmons Arena.

The win marked the 100th victory for Furman head coach Sam Dixon, now in his eighth season in charge of the Paladin program.

Thompson, a freshman guard from Oak Ridge, Tenn., delivered most of her punishment from 3-point range, draining 5-of-8 from beyond the arc in helping Furman (5-11, 3-4 SoCon) improve to 18-0 all-time versus Wofford in Greenville.  She also claimed six rebounds and collected a team leading five steals.

Junior forward Kendra Berry continued her strong play of late with 14 points and 11 rebounds - both career highs - and Lee Stephens added 12 points to go along with eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Mahagany Williams paced Wofford (1-11, 0-5 SoCon) with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks.

Furman used strong shooting from 3-point range, converting 10-of-21 attempts, to take control of the contest, and also claimed a 49-35 rebounding advantage.

Wofford found the mark on only 18-of-55 shots (32.7 percent), including just 1-of-7 from 3-point range.

The Paladins led 37-21 at the half and quickly put the game away in the second period, using a 12-4 run out of the break for a 49-25 lead following a Stephens 3-pointer with 15:19 to go.

Furman's next game is next Monday against Georgia Southern in Statesboro.  Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
