Chattanooga football coach Russ Huesman announced the 2010 Mocs Football schedule today.  Included in the 11-game slate are five homes games that start with a season-opening battle against defending SoCon Champion Appalachian State on Saturday, Sept. 4. 

 

UTC will kick-off another season of "Restore the Glory" when the Mountaineers visit Finley Stadium.  ASU has won five-straight in the series with the last Mocs win coming in Chattanooga during the 2004 season.  Appalachian State posted an 11-3 overall mark in 2009, advancing to the national semifinals before falling at Montana.  They were ranked No. 4 in the final FCS Coaches Poll following the 2009 season. 

 

Chattanooga steps out of conference for the next two weekends, beginning with a road trip to Jacksonville State on Sept. 11.  This will be the third trip to JSU since the 2005 season.  The Mocs lead the all-time series 25-9, but the Gamecocks hold a 4-1 advantage in the last six years.  Jacksonville State finished the 2009 season with an 8-3 record and was ranked No. 16 in the final FCS Coaches Poll. 

 

The Mocs return home on Sept. 18 for a 6:00 p.m. kick-off against Eastern Kentucky in Finley Stadium.  EKU holds a 2-1-1 advantage in the four-game series, but these two teams have not met since the 1987 season.  The Colonels finished 2009 with a 5-6 overall mark, but were 5-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference where they finished third overall. 

 

Back on the road the following weekend, the Mocs resume SoCon action at Western Carolina on Sept. 25.  UTC has won two of the last three visits to Cullowhee, N.C.  After an open weekend on Oct. 2, Chattanooga travels to Charleston, S.C. to face The Citadel.  The Bulldogs have won four of the last six in the series and UTC is looking for its first win at Sansom Field since 2002. 

 

The Mocs' 2010 Homecoming game is set for Oct. 16 against Georgia Southern.  Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Finley Stadium.  The Mocs are just 3-20 all-time against the Eagles, but will be looking for the third win in the last four years. 

 

A road trip to Furman is set for the following weekend on Oct. 23 with UTC returning home on Oct. 30 to face Elon.  Kick-off against the Phoenix will be 2:00 p.m.  Elon went 9-3 in 2009 and finished the year ranked No. 10 in the final FCS Coaches Poll.  That gives Chattanooga two home opponents that were ranked in the top-10 in the final 2009 polls.   

 

For the second year in a row, the Mocs will travel to a Southeastern Conference opponent late in the season.  This year, UTC heads to Auburn on Nov. 6.  It is the Mocs' first visit to Auburn since the 1995 season and the 21st meeting between these two teams.  Chattanooga will be looking for a major upset and its first ever win against the Tigers.

 

Senior Day is set for Nov. 13 against Samford at Finley Stadium.  The regular season home schedule wraps up with a 2:00 p.m. kick-off against the Bulldogs.  The regular season finale is at Wofford on Nov. 20 where the Mocs have not won since 1998.   

 

Reservations for new season tickets are available online on the ticket page on GoMocs.com.  New season tickets will go on sale to the general public on March 15, 2010.  Renewal letters for current season ticket holders will also be mailed on March 15, 2010. 

 

Current season ticket holders will have their seats reserved for renewal until May 14, 2010.  Single-game tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Aug. 19, just over two weeks before the home opener.

 

Season tickets start at $25 for youth, UTC employees and UTC Alumni.  Season ticket prices for the general public begin at $49.  Fans will save up to 12% off the single-game price when purchasing season tickets.  See below for a complete pricing list.

 

Fans who purchase or renew their season tickets before May 1, 2010, will receive an Early Bird Special that is good for 10% off the regular season ticket price.
