UTC's Wade-Fray Honored as Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga senior Jenaya Wade-Fray led the Lady Mocs in scoring in two conference road victories and has been named the Southern Conference women's basketball player of the week for all games January 19-25. It marks her second honor this season.

The Madison, Ala., guard averaged 17 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games last week. She also added six assists and four steals.

In the 58-52 win at Furman, Wade-Fray posted her second double-double of the season with a game-high 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Against Wofford, Wade-Fray once again scored the game high, tallying 19 points to go along with five boards. The Lady Mocs won 78-72 and claimed their 10th consecutive victory.

Wade-Fray has scored in double figures 15 times this season and has led the Lady Mocs in points five times.

She has now scored 1,201 career points and moved into 16th place on Chattanooga's all-time scoring list. Her 191 career three-pointers rank third in school history and fifth all-time in the Southern Conference.

Chattanooga returns to action Saturday when they host Elon before welcoming UNC Greensboro on Monday.

Other top performers included Appalachian State's Catherine Williams, College of Charleston's Tonia Gerty, Elon's Ali Ford, Georgia Southern's Carolyn Whitney, UNC Greensboro's Lakiah Hyson and Samford's Emily London.
