SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Ben Altman, a senior on the Davidson wrestling team, has been selected the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for January 13.
The math major from Wilmington, Del., has a 3.867 GPA.
Altman currently leads the Wildcats with a 14-8 overall record and 20 total points in dual matches.
Wrestling at 125 pounds at the Virginia Duals, Altman scored a pin in the match against Millersville and a technical fall against the Apprentice School. His only loss was an 8-5 decision against Pitt-Johnstown, a Division II school ranked No. 5 in the nation.
Other nominees included UNC Greensboro women's basketball player Amanda Leigh, Samford women's basketball player Megan Wilderotter and Western Carolina women's track & field athlete Jordan Gaddy.
