Furman's Adams Selected Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Caroline Adams, a freshman middle blocker at Furman, has been honored as the Southern Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance in matches September 20-27, the league office announced Monday.

The Plano, Texas, native recorded 23 kills and 10 blocks, two of which were solo, in Furman's matches against Georgia Southern and Davidson.

In Furman's 3-1 victory against the Eagles, Adams hit .296 and posted five blocks. Against the Wildcats, Adams hit .733 and had 11 kills in 15 attempts with no errors. The Paladins won the match 3-0 and improved to 9-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Adams currently leads the team with a .325 attack percentage, 115 kills and 55 blocks.

The Paladins travel to Charleston, S.C., for conference matches against The Citadel on October 3 and College of Charleston on October 4.

Also nominated this week were College of Charleston's Emily Sawin, Elon's Caroline Lemke, Georgia Southern's Parker Small, Samford's Allie Bettinger, Chattanooga's Laura Brock and Wofford's Stacy Byrd.
