SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Furman's Chloe Kowalski has been selected the Southern Conference Women's Runner of the Week for her performance at the Elon Invitational Saturday, as announced by the league office today.

Kowalski, a sophomore from Pensacola, Fla., finished the 5K with a time of 18:41. Her time established both a meet and course record. The Paladin women took first overall at the Elon Invitational, edging host Elon by one point.

Furman returns to action Saturday at the Winthrop/Asics Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.

Other top performers included:

Anneli Uys, a junior at Chattanooga, finished third at the PowerAde Opener with a time of 11:39 on the two-mile course. The Australia native, who is majoring in human movement, competed in her first race since redshirting last season. The Lady Mocs finished second at the event.
