Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel wrestling program announced the addition of 16 new wrestlers to the program on Tuesday. The newcomers will hail from eight different states and countries. The new wrestlers have combined for a national championship title, four All-American titles, six state titles and 12 state finals appearances.
The 16 newcomers will strengthen the roster and give options for Head Coach Rob Hjerling who enters his 11th season at the helm of the Bulldog Wrestling program. "These freshmen are great additions to our program. We now have some experience returning and solid depth in the room," said Hjerling. "A few of the freshmen will be competing for a starting spot right away but they will all benefit from having good training partners. Beyond their credentials, most of these freshmen just started to tap into their potential. We look forward to helping them jump to different levels in their wrestling careers."

JJ Hellinger comes from Orlando, Fla. where he wrestled at Dr. Phillips High School. He is a Florida state placer.
Hampton Motley is a two-time South Carolina state finalist coming out of Lexington High School in Lexington, S.C.

Jordan Dix comes south from James River High School in Richmond, Va. where he is a four-time Virginia state placer, an NHSCA National Open Finalist and tallied a career record of 183-23.
Another home state product, Shane Lee joins the Bulldogs as a two-time South Carolina state qualifier and a South Carolina state placer. Lee is out of White Knoll HS in West Columbia, S.C.
With a career record of 161-15, Dustin Paridon of Mosley High School in Panama City, Fla. joins The Citadel as a four-time Florida state qualifier, a two-time Florida state placer and a Florida state finalist.
Zach Boyer is a two-time Florida state placer out of Robinson High School in Tampa, Fla. Boyer will wrestler in either the 133 or the 141 weight class.
Giazzi Segarra is a four-time South Carolina state qualifier, a two-time South Carolina placer and a South Carolina state finalist. He comes from Dorman High School in Spartanburg, S.C. Segarra will wrestle in either the 133 or the 141 weight class.

Kevin Timothy racked up a career record of 200-12 at Brandon High School in Brandon, Fla. He is a four-time Florida state placer, a three-time Florida finalist, a two-time Florida state champion, an NHSCA Senior National All-American (8th) and a Greco Junior National All-American (8th).
Rashad Palmer is a two-time North Carolina state qualifier, a North Carolina state placer and a South Carolina state qualifier. He comes to The Citadel from Overhill High School in Fayetteville, N.C.
Nick LaFevre is a transfer from Clarion University (Pa.). LaFevre was a two-time New Jersey state qualifier out of Delaware Valley Regional High School in Milford, N.J.

Max Morrill is a two-time Florida state qualifier out of Hernando High School in Brooksville, Fla.

Coming from the Midwest, Cameron Childs joins the Bulldogs after qualifying for states in Ohio. He is from Cincinnati, Ohio where he wrestled at Glen Este High School.

Turtogtokh Luvsandorj comes to the program after earning the title of New Jersey Prep State Champion. He is also a prep National Champion, and an NHSCA Senior National All-American (6th). He wrestled at St. Benedict's Prep, N.J. and is originally from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Scott Edelson is a three-time Georgia state qualifier and a Georgia state finalist. He comes to The Citadel from College Park, Ga. where he wrestled at Woodward Academy.
