Jason Yaman joined the Southern Conference as director of media relations in 2008 and was promoted to assistant commissioner in 2009 and associate commissioner in 2014. After handling the media relations efforts for the conference office for nine years, he transitioned over to marketing and corporate sales during the summer of 2017. He is responsible for the league's corporate partners program and ensuring fulfillment with established contracts.
In addition, Yaman is responsible for the conference scheduling for seven league sports and works as conference liaison with the league's broadcast partners. He also serves as the league's sport supervisor for baseball.
Yaman spent two years as assistant director of media relations at the University of Maryland before joining the SoCon staff in August 2008. Prior to spending two years working as the men’s basketball contact with the Terrapins, Yaman spent three years as an assistant athletic director at Indiana State.
Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Yaman earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University before completing a master’s degree at Michigan. In 2011, he earned an MBA from the University of South Carolina. Yaman completed the NCAA's Pathway Program during the 2016-17 academic year.
