FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior sprinter Manteo Mitchell finished his career as a Western Carolina Catamount Wednesday, placing 23rd in the men's 400-meter dash in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mitchell finished with a time of 47.04 seconds.

After a three-hour plus rain delay causing the running events to be pushed back to almost midnight, Mitchell came up short of qualifying for the semifinals on Thursday.

Western Carolina has now completed its season after winning a SoCon outdoor track and field championship.
