NCBWA Moves Elon Into Top-30

DALLAS, Texas -- The Elon Phoenix debuted at No. 28 in this week's national top-30 poll compiled by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).  It is the first ranking in one of the four major college baseball polls since the NCBWA rated the Phoenix as the No. 29 team in the nation heading into last year's NCAA Regional appearance in Cary, N.C.

Elon moved up two spots in the Ping!Baseball Top-30 poll to the No. 20 position this week as well.

The Phoenix went 5-0 on the week with victories over No. 21 East Carolina, North Carolina A&T and a SoCon sweep of Wofford.  Elon has won nine consecutive games overall and 13 straight at Latham Park.

Topping the NCBWA poll is Elon's next foe, North Carolina.  Other Phoenix opponents in the poll include Clemson (No. 20), East Carolina (No. 22) and Coastal Carolina (No. 23).

North Carolina also sits atop the Ping!Baseball poll with Phoenix foes Clemson (No. 19), East Carolina (No. 22) and Coastal Carolina (No. 27) also appearing in the top-30.
