SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Western Carolina sprinter Manteo Mitchell has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week while the Catamounts’ Matt Evans has been named Field Athlete of the Week for all meets from April 2-8, the conference office announced Thursday. Voting is conducted by the league’s men’s outdoor track and field head coaches.
Mitchell was part of three first-place finishes and two NCAA Regional qualifying performances at the Mountains vs. the Beaches meet hosted by WCU.
