Senior won her second individual title of the season on Tuesday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Elon senior Danielle Mills has been named the Southern Conference women’s golfer of the week for all competition from April 1-7.

Mills fired a three-over-par 147 (73-74) over 36 holes to win the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate on Tuesday in Morganton, N.C. Mills rebounded from a two-stroke deficit after round one to claim her second tournament championship in the past three weeks. Mills led all five of Elon’s entrants who each finished in the top-16 of the field, helping the squad to finish in second place.

The golfer of the week is selected by a vote of the league’s women’s golf sports information directors.

Other top performers this week were Samford’s Katelyn Stanier, College of Charleston’s Steffi Kirchmayr, Chattanooga’s Maria Salinas and Western Carolina’s Desiree Karlsson.
