ASU-Samford Baseball Postponed
BOONE, N.C. - Friday's baseball game between Appalachian State and Samford has been postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday at ASU's Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.

Rain and severe thunderstorms across the region forced the cancellation
Cullowhee, N.C. ? Friday night’s Southern Conference series opener between Western Carolina and Georgia Southern has been cancelled due to rain and the threat of inclement weather, including heavy downpours and severe thunderstorms across the region.
The two teams will open the three-game conference series at 2:00 pm in game one of a scheduled double-header, with the second game to follow at the conclusion of the opener at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium.
The series will conclude on Sunday afternoon with game three scheduled for a 2:00 pm start.
Friday’s opening game was originally slated for a 6:00 pm start. However, the threat of rain and inclement weather prompted officials to hold the start in the interest of safety and to wait out the oncoming storms. The official decision to cancel the opener and schedule Saturday’s double-header came just before 7:00 pm.
Game One of Elon-CofC Baseball Series Postponed
ELON, N.C. -- Game one of the scheduled Southern Conference baseball series between the Elon Phoenix and College of Charleston Cougars has been postponed due to rain. The game was slated for a 7 p.m. first pitch on Friday night, but the two teams will now play a 4 p.m. doubleheader from Latham Park on Saturday afternoon.
Friday Furman-Longwood Baseball Game Canceled
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Friday’s Furman-Longwood baseball game has been canceled due to steady rain in the Greenville area and will not be rescheduled, according to Furman baseball coach Ron Smith. The two teams will play their regularly scheduled Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon at Latham Stadium.
Friday's Game vs. The Citadel Postponed by Rain
DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Tonight's scheduled Southern Conference game between the Davidson Wildcats and the The Citadel Bulldogs has been postponed by rain. The two teams will play a double-header tomorrow at 1 p.m.
The series will conclude with a 1 p.m. contest on Easter Sunday.
Davidson and The Citadel (18-12) enter the weekend series tied for fifth place in the SoCon standings with 7-5 records. The Bulldogs split midweek games against College of Charleston (L, 8-21) and Charleston Southern (W, 9-2) after winning two of three games from Wofford in Charleston last weekend.
Davidson (12-14) is coming off an 11-10, 12-inning loss to Gardner-Webb Wednesday night. Freshman first baseman Drew Gadaire tied a school record with four home runs. The school record was set by Gus Quattlebaum, who homered four times on Feb. 16, 1997 against VCU. Gadaire also singled in his first at-bat and finished with a game-high five RBI.
Wofford Baseball Schedule Change
SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Wofford baseball game scheduled for Friday, April 10 at 7:00 pm against UNC Greensboro has been postponed due to rain and the forecast of severe thunderstorms. The two teams will play a double-header on Saturday, April 11, beginning at 1:00 pm at Russell C. King Field.
The two nine-inning contests will be separated by a 30-minute break between games. The doubleheader will complete the three-game Southern Conference series.
