Samford?s Stanier Named Women?s Golfer of the Week

Junior led Samford to a second-place finish at Lady Jaguar Invitational

 

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Samford junior Katelyn Stanier has been named the Southern Conference women’s golfer of the week for all competition from February 25 ? March 3.

 

Stanier helped lead Samford to a second-place finish out of 16 schools at the 2009 USA Lady Jaguar Invitational on Tuesday as she closed out the event with a final score of 224. The Newnan, Ga., native finished the event in third place and tallied a team-best round of 72 on Monday.

 

The golfer of the week is selected by a vote of the league’s women’s golf sports information directors.
