SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Citadel 197-lb. wrestler Odie Delaney has been named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all matches Feb. 18-24, the league office announced Wednesday. The award is voted on by the league’s wrestling sports information directors.

Delaney, a freshman, becomes the third Bulldog to claim the honor this season. Last week, Delaney went 2-0 with victories over UNC Greensboro’s Jeremy Cannon and Gardner-Webb’s Randall Herring. The Destin, Fla., native won a 5-4 decision over Cannon and pinned Herring in 1:01 to close out the week.

Also nominated for this week’s award were Chattanooga’s Seth Garvin, Appalachian State’s Antionne Jones, Davidson’s Alex Radsky and UNC Greensboro’s Chris Bencivenga.
