CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships Begin Today

ATHENS, Ga. ? The second annual Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Swimming & Diving Championships begin today at the University of Georgia Natatorium in Athens, Ga. The event is slated to run through Saturday evening with the finals scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.  

 

The morning sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. daily and the evening sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. daily.

 

The Southern Conference is one of four conferences that combined to form the CCSA in 2008. The CCSA is a swimming only league. The other conferences include the Big South, Atlantic Sun and MEAC. The league is comprised of 12 members, 12 women’s teams and six men’s.

 

The SoCon schools competing this week are College of Charleston, Davidson and Georgia Southern. Each have both a men’s and women’s team.

 

The remaining nine schools that participate in women’s swimming are Campbell (A-Sun), Florida A&M (MEAC), Florida Gulf Coast (A-Sun), Gardner-Webb (A-Sun), Howard (MEAC), North Carolina A&T (MEAC), North Florida (A-Sun), Radford (Big South) and VMI (Big South). The other schools that participate in men’s swimming are Florida A&M, Gardner-Webb, Howard and VMI.
