SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Davidson track athlete Thad Sieracki and Samford pole vaulter Patrick Wells have been named Southern Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for all meets Feb. 12-18, the conference office announced Thursday.
Sieracki, a senior, finished third in the 3,000-meter run at the Carolina Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., last weekend. The economics and mathematics major ran the 3,000 in a season-best 8:38.30. Sieracki’s time ranks him fifth in the SoCon this season.
Wells, a sophomore pole vaulter, vaulted 15’10 ?” to finish third at the Tiger Paw Invitational held in Clemson, S.C., last weekend. The vault established a new school record and currently leads the SoCon this season.
